Privacy Policy
KILLCUT is a free tool for making short clips from gameplay videos. It is run by the operator of KILLCUT (“we”). This policy explains what information is involved when you use killcut.online and what we do with it.
The short version
- Your videos are processed inside your browser. They are never uploaded to us or anyone else.
- We don't have accounts, so we don't collect your name or password. We only get your email if you choose to join the Pro waitlist.
- Some settings are saved in your own browser so the tool remembers them.
- KILLCUT is paid for by ads from Google, which uses cookies as described below.
Your videos
When you open a video in KILLCUT, your browser reads it from your device. Scanning, editing and rendering happen on your device. Finished clips are saved straight to your device when you download them. We never receive, view or store your videos or clips.
Information stored in your browser
KILLCUT uses your browser's local storage to remember:
- Presets you save (box positions, layout, caption style and similar settings).
- Your clip list for recent videos, so you can pick up where you left off. This includes clip times, grades, captions and hook text, plus the file name, size and length of the video they belong to. It never includes the video itself. KILLCUT keeps this for your last 8 videos.
- Your answer to the age question, and whether you dismissed certain notices.
This information stays on your device. We can't see it. You can delete it any time by clearing site data for killcut.online in your browser settings.
Advertising
KILLCUT shows ads provided by Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to show ads and measure how they perform, based on your visits to this and other websites. You can learn more at How Google uses information from sites that use its services, and turn off personalized ads at Google Ad Settings.
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland are asked for consent before personalized ads are shown, through Google's consent message.
Children
KILLCUT is intended for people 13 and older. When ads are active, we ask one question: whether you are 13 or older. If you answer no, or don't answer, we only request non-personalized ads, which do not use cookies to track you across sites. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
Analytics
We may use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count visits and see which pages are used. It does not use cookies and does not track you across websites.
Pro waitlist
If you join the KILLCUT Pro waitlist, you give us your email through a form hosted by Tally. We use it only to tell you about Pro and its launch, and you can ask us to remove it any time by emailing [email protected]. See Tally's privacy policy for how they handle form data.
Hosting
killcut.online is served by Cloudflare. Like any website host, Cloudflare processes basic technical information such as your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site from attacks.
